Letters of Recommendations

Dear Personnel Manager:

I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for James Hang. I highly recommend James to your organization for the position of computer programmer / web developer.

I have known James for the past three years as he has taken the following courses that I teach: CST1021 HTML and the Web, CST2641 Intro Mobile Applications, CST1640 Intro to Java using Android, CST1146 PHP Programming. As his professor, I have had an opportunity to observe his participation and interaction in class and to evaluate James’ knowledge of the subject matter. He is an outstanding student in all respects. James has proven that through hard work, follow though, and team work, he can accomplish tasks in a courteous and timely manner.

James was assigned as my work-study for Fall 2016 – Spring 2017 semesters. His work-study assignment was to tutor other students taking Python, HTML, Javascript, Java, Databases, etc. The feedback I have received from other students was that James is patient with others and is able to elaborate on the material in detail, until the other student “gets it”. Many students saw James on a regular basis to get extra help.

James is well equipped to grow from challenges that he is presented with. His strong programming skills, patience, and teaching ability prepare him for a position of computer programmer / web developer. I endorse making James Hang a member of your team at your organization.

Sincerely,

Greetings,

I’m writing on behalf of James Hang, an exceptional student that I’ve come to know over his two-years of study in the computer programming department of Ridgewater College in Hutchinson, Minnesota.

My first encounter with James was as a student in my four-credit C#.NET programming class. James always turned in his work on time, showed advanced programming skills and was willing to help other classmates in writing and debugging their programs.

James became a work study tutor for the computer department helping dozens of students in their struggle to learn computer programming basics. I’m sure many of my Automation students would not have passed their Intro to Programming and C#.NET classes without the encouragement and coaching from James.

James also took the micro-controller class that I taught this last semester. I used a new book and got stuck a couple times not having the right parts on hand to build the Arduino circuit projects. I would turn to James who was always able to build the circuits and to make the code work – often in very innovative ways combining several programs and reassigning hardware resources. One project was using two Arduino with XBee transceivers to wirelessly control devices across several hundred feet of space.

I would recommend James Hang for your employ or project without hesitation. My relationship with James has been nothing but positive.

Regards,

Dear Committee,

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for my Ridgewater student James Hang. James was a member of my Speech 121 Introduction to Communications class. During the course of a semester, 18 weeks, I have the opportunity to learn many things about my students. Being a communications class – students share their personal stories in speeches, partnering activities, small group activities and during one-on-one conferences with the instructor.

James is a student who can put a smile on your face! His sense of humor is delightful!! Always the student who would bring a joke to the conversation, a little snide remark, or a one-liner, that would catch fellow students and this instructor off-guard – and we would all break out into giggles!

James comes from a background filled with terrific experiences that have made him a leader. James works three jobs while attending Ridgewater classes. He puts in 24 hours a week at Woodstone Senior Living, a retirement community. I bet the residents absolutely Love Him!! James works as a tutor for Ridgewater College helping students with computer systems technology questions. He averages around 10 hours a week for the CST Department. James also helps his family at the local Farmer’s Market on the weekends!

He is maintaining a great GPA (3.76) while here at Ridgewater. His current semester looks destine to be a 4.0!! It is kind of funny – James told me he came to Ridgewater just to take a couple classes, not really sure what he wanted to be “IF” he grew up…..and while taking those couple classes – he found he was good at Programming and working with computers, so he decided to stay and complete his Programming Courses with an Associate of Applied Science Degree. James hopes to further his education and experience in the field of Game Design.

It was a pleasure having James in my class! He always brought a smile to this instructor’s day!!

Sincerely,
